Law Hospital.

Law Hospital was built in 1939 as an emergency medical service hospital with an expected life span of 10-15 years for the people of Carluke.
The hospital was sited some distance from the local residential population to avoid possible bomb damage during the war, the hospital is laid out in a military camp style which created major functional problems between related hospital departments right up until its closure in 2001.
Since its closure it has been plagued with vandalism and more recently been the victim of a media frenzy attack against the NHS.
Law hospital is pretty much like any other hospital we have explored, the same decay the same random equipment and medical records left lying around all over.
The difference with Law though is the fact its been victim to public scrutiny and a rather embarassing chapter for the NHS and its never ending list of fuck ups, I dont know if they purposley mean to fuck up or if they are incompetant or simply like cutting corners to save money? either way I dont care as they provide the exploring community with some rather interesting sites to explore all over the country ;)
What does make one wonder though is why they do it? I mean at some point someone some where for what ever reason is going to stumble into places like these and see just whats going on.
The spotlight hit Law when it was discovered that patient records had been left all over the hospital, X-rays of patients, medical historys and so on, and when the BBC published it all over the country there was and uproar!
The thing is though they have been doing it for years and will continue for many more, its always good to know your details are safe ;)
Well with recent media coverage and exposure we where unsure if it was at all possible if we would get to explore Law, fortunatley though and the predictable track record of the NHS in securing sites it was a guranteed walk in explore.
The only disappointment was not coming across any patient details, seems the media frenzy scared them into actually going in and clearing the place of any patient details, (Thats a first).
Humour aside though it made for and interesting explore albeit a little dull, the military style layout of the place I think is its downfall but aside from that there where some interesting bits to see including the operating theatres and Photography labs.
